A portfolio tracker you fully control

19 June 2026 · 6 min read

Checking five apps to know what you're worth is a chore. One spreadsheet — that you own and that works offline — turns it into a single glance.

A tracker doesn't need a live feed to earn its place. What it needs is clear structure: enter your holdings once, refresh the prices when you check in, and let the formulas do the rest. Nothing leaves your machine.

Structure beats automation

Give every holding a row: asset, quantity, average buy price, and a current price you type in. From those four numbers the sheet works out cost basis, market value, profit/loss and each position's share of the whole.

Update prices your way

Glance at prices once a day, once a week, or whenever you rebalance — you decide the cadence. Type them into one column and every total, percentage and chart recalculates instantly. No API keys, no scripts, no permissions to grant.

What to actually show

  • Total value and profit/loss at the top, big.
  • Allocation — a pie of how much sits in each asset, so you spot concentration risk.
  • Per-holding rows with price, value and P/L.
This is a tracker, not advice. It shows your numbers clearly so the decisions stay yours.

Own your data

Nothing leaves your computer. No third party holds your positions and there's no account to sign into — and you can extend it however you like: dividends, currencies, history.

Skip the formula wrangling

The Crypto & Stock Portfolio Tracker comes wired: cost basis, market value, allocation and P/L in an Excel workbook. Enter your holdings, type in the prices, and it does the maths.
